IP ratings describe how well an enclosure resists solids and liquids. The first digit covers dust, the second covers water.
IP65
Dust tight and protected against water jets. Suitable for most factory floors and indoor kiosks.
IP67
Withstands temporary immersion up to 1 m. Recommended for outdoor terminals and areas that are hosed down.
IP68
Continuous immersion beyond 1 m as specified by the manufacturer. Choose IP68 silicone keyboards for food processing and hospitals where keyboards are washed daily.
Tip: a keyboard is only as sealed as its installation - always use the supplied gasket and correct cutout.
